No, we didn’t get the Julianne Moore to come on this little blog to tell us what her favorite movies are. We’re just going to guess.
- Fight Club (Because she’s kind of a bad a**)
- Good Will Hunting (Because she’s from Boston… right? Or was that just a 30 Rock thing?)
- The Wizard of Oz (Because, because, because, because, becaaaause, because of the wonderful things she does.)
Okay, that’s really not what this post is about at all. I have no idea what Julianne Moore would consider a must see movie. But I do know that there are a few of hers that shouldn’t be missed. Here are the ones that you should definitely see if they’ve passed you by somehow:
Children of Men
In a post-apocalyptic world set in 2027, Children of Men explores what humanity means when humans have lost the ability to procreate. Moore plays an activist who, with the help of Clive Owen, attempts to transport a mysteriously pregnant woman to safety.
Not only is Moore’s performance energetic and subtle for an apocalypse film, the entire production is realistic and enthralling. Not to be missed.
The Lost World: Jurassic Park
If you didn’t see this movie in the 90′s and/or as a child, this movie might not have the same impact on you. Nevertheless, it gets the Must See Movies stamp of approval. Sure, it’s the sequel, but it’s still Jurassic Park. It could have been awful, but Julianne Moore and Jeff Goldblum make this movie totally enjoyable.
The Big Lebowski
Moore rocks a mod and artsy bob when she plays the “big” Lebowski’s pretentious daughter, Maude Lebowski. If you’ve never seen The Big Lebowski, you’ve probably been hiding under a rock somewhere or you were frozen in the early 90′s. At any rate, you better start trying to catch up. The Big Lebowski is a good place to start. Then we can move on to talk about how America has a black president and we have online schools these days.
30 Rock
Even though this is a movie blog, I can’t help but mention her stint on 30 Rock as a hockey mom with a thick Boston accent. It’s fantastic.
What’s your favorite Julianne Moore flick?
What can you say about Brad Pitt that hasn’t already been said? He was the first man to ever be named Sexiest man alive by People magazine. They literally created a list just for him to be at the top of. He’s a Missouri boy with southern charm, but he’s worldly and caring (note his architecture projects in New Orleans). He’s goofy (he joined the crew of
